The economy, albeit gradually, is still tanking. Eduardo Saverin,
billionaire cofounder of Facebook has jumped ship and renounced his citizenship
(last September). I can’t blame him, he’s not American by birth, and he’s about
to make $5-$10 billion through Facebook’s IPO. I wouldn’t want to have to hand
the United States $750,000,000 to $1,500,000,000 simply because I hold a U.S.
passport either. Saverin is the poster child for what ails this nation. The
wealthy are tired of paying MORE than their fair share. They are taking their
money and their companies elsewhere. The government’s response? Capital gains
taxes will increase by 3% next year.
Selling Power A Warren Buffett attribute. A Barack Obama hobby. |
In the meantime, Berkshire Hathaway is suing the IRS to
avoid paying $643 million that its subsidiary, NetJets, owes the government. Over
32% of Berkshire is owned by Warren Buffett… yes, the “Buffett Rule” Warren
Buffett. Buffett is also the Chairman, President, and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. You
may wonder who the next biggest shareholder in Berkshire Hathaway is? Cascade
Investments LLC (owned by Bill Gates, the other billionaire cheerleader of the Buffett
Rule).
Elsewhere, Obama will not allow the building of the XL Pipeline,
effectively destroying thousands of potential jobs (many of which are union
jobs for those of you keeping score – where is the “Solidarity”?). The oil must
still get through though. The bulk of that responsibility falls to Burlington
Northern Santa Fe LLC, which ships 75% of that oil by rail. I’m sure it’s
coincidence that Berkshire Hathaway owns that
company as well. Did I mention that the Sierra Club considers moving oil by
train more dangerous to the environment than a pipeline? Why did Obama stop the
pipeline again?
Could be dog... or the rich. Obama eats all kinds of stuff. He should be eating his words. |
After killing American jobs, what is Obama’s response? A
party with the “1%” jetsetters. On May 10th, Obama raised $15
million for his reelection campaign in one evening at an event that very few
99%ers were at… the two or three who did get in had to donate to his campaign
to get there. Hypocrisy shines through again as Obama blames the rich for
America’s woes, while hobnobbing with them and taking their money. He demonizes
the rich, but money buys you access to him.
This will not create jobs, reduce the the deficit, or help the economy. |
And what is Obama’s reaction to the still failing economy,
record unemployment, and overall weakening of the American dollar? He “evolved”
to support gay marriage. Write that down everyone… Republicans flip-flop,
Democrats evolve. Whatever you want to call it, I don’t care if someone changes
their mind. If a person is incapable of changing his mind then he is not
intelligent or rational enough to lead. Period. Therefore, it is fine that the
president has done so. I applaud his ability to adjust. However, I am certain
that this had nothing to do with fairness or equality, and everything to do
with taking attention off the state of the nation while raising more money for
his campaign. Making gay marriage the focal point with all that the country is
facing right now is sort of like using your wipe washer as you drive off a cliff.
Yeah, in your mind, you’re trying to make things better… but it’s not going to
make any difference in the long run.
We can prevent this... |
Once again, Obama is pandering to social issues instead of
national issues. It is nothing more than a diversion (that the press is all too
happy to accommodate). The election is coming America. I implore you all to
look at the facts and not the hype. I will do my best to run a series of blogs
to shine the light on the president (pre and post 2008 election). If the media
won’t vet him, I guess I’ll have to do it.
Comments, ideas, and feedback are desired!
Here! Here!! I remember Obama saying, "If I don't tunr the economy around, fire me."
ReplyDeleteWell, America, what say you?
