So the liberal spin is that the Republicans are going to cause a government shut down. Hmm... The budget Obama wants to pass will put this country $4.5 BILLION further into debt every day. Not $4.5B in total spending per day, $4.5B IN DEFICIT SPENDING PER DAY. I don't care how much you tax the rich... that is unsustainable. The Dems should have been passed THIS budget LAST year. They are Constitutionally mandated to do so, but they didn't.

RACE IS NOT A DISABILITY
I understand that racism exists and that bothers me, but what bothers me more is the Democratic machine that capitalizes on keeping it that way, while asserting that it is the Republicans that are responsible. Actually, the opposite is true. Historically, the Democrats have done more to hold back minorities than Republicans.

THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING
On December 13th, 2010, United States District Judge Henry Hudson ruled that portions of Affordable Care Act were unconstitutional1. With the lack of a severability clause (which was the result of the Democrats questionable methods of forcing the bill through) this could potentially void all of Obamacare. This fact was reiterated by Justice Roger Vinson who on January 31st, 2011, stated outright that, “Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire Act must be declared void.

SHORT AND SWEET - VOTING PRESENT
Alright, let me start by saying I'm sorry. I am looooooong winded. I'm going to work on that. From here on out the goal will be posts that are 3 paragraphs or less. The end result will hopefully be a little more feedback (hint, hint) and allow me to cover more topics as it takes a considerable amount of time to write the novelettes I'm currently posting. So for those of you that stuck it out with me, thanks and hopefully future blogs will be less painful. With that said... the leader of the Unites States is stepping down!

OIL THAT IS, BLACK GOLD, TEXAS TEA
Did you miss me? I tried to quit blogging. I really did. I can't do it. So here we go again -
Oil. We need it. A 42-gallon barrel of oil produces just over 19 gallons of gasoline. The rest goes into products we use everyday. For instance, those big fat tires on your car contain about 7 gallons of petroleum each. The grand aspirations of the current administration, Al Gore, and countless organizations to break our “oil addiction” will not work.

TIME TO GO HOME
In lieu of a full-blown military retirement ceremony I have opted to write a short missive to you all. After all, there was no fanfare when I began this journey in June of 1988, and I don’t need any on the way out either. Friday will be my last day on active duty that I will not be on permissive TAD or on leave. Essentially, I will be taking off my uniform for the last time tomorrow.

AUDACITY
Taxes irritate me. Not that I don't think they are important. In today's day and age we can't support our necessary infrastructure without them. There are a few things I take issue with though.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WEAR ON AN AUTOPSY TABLE?
The new outrage is the TSA. The conservative media is blowing this thing up. I hope it's due to genuine conviction and not merely to try to further discredit the current administration. To my surprise, the liberal media is also up in arms. Just my luck that the media can finally produce bipartisan coverage of a topic and I completely disagree with them. I started to write this blog a few nights ago, but deleted it after seeing the reaction of the media. I felt I should step back and reassess my viewpoint. I did so and came to the conclusion I was correct. So here it is in black and white... well maybe more of a black and sepia?

CAUTIOUS OPTIMISM
Well, I'd like to say I'm tickled pink over the election last Tuesday. Honestly though I haven't even breathed a sigh of relief. The last two years have involved a lot of poor and backward decision making in Washington. Decisions led to policies and laws that need to be undone. The Republican Party is now poised to be able to start repairing things. Notice I said start. This is not a quick fix.

A MORAL TO THE STORY...
Wow, I've been gone for a while! I can't believe it's been over two months since I posted, although I'm sure that has come as a relief to most of you. After my prolonged recess I have returned to post quite possibly my laziest blog to date. I'm just going to paste two things here that I think convey good messages. To the best of my knowledge these are NOT based in fact. Instead they are what some would call web lore, though I consider them more along the lines of apologues. Just as Aesop's fables were not factual, the lessons they conveyed were valuable. I think there are important messages here as well...
