CONSERVATIVE FURY

A long-time, very dear friend of mine recently posted an article from the New York Times about the recent tragedy in Norway.  In true (NYT) form the piece opens with the words “A lone political extremist” and as would be expected is followed later in the story by, “Anders Behring Breivik [...] characterized by officials as a right-wing extremist.”  Well of course he is!

Aren’t ALL psychopaths right-wingers?  I’ll bet if you look in the MSNBC thesaurus they’re synonyms.  Along with Lord and Savior=Obama, oil=devil, and your money=my money.  All of which are wrong=Democrat.

Jared emits green
house gasses.
Save the planet...
The most recent case that comes to mind is Jared Loughner.  Keith Oblermann and Markos Moulitsas were blaming Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck for this idiot’s actions before the smoke cleared.  No evidence… just accusation.  I’ll admit that Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity weren’t much better with their cries of, “Oh he read Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto!”  Clearly they were trying to paint the opposite picture of a left-wing extremist.  The difference? He DID read those books and had listed them as favorites on his YouTube page… facts versus the incorrect assumption of liberals.  Incorrect assumptions that were sucked up and accepted as gospel because Keith Olbermann said it.  I guarantee you there are still people today who believe Jared Loughner is 1) a Republican, and 2) did what he did because of Palin, Beck and Limbaugh.  I for one believe Olbermann is 1) a pompous, vile ninnyhammer, and 2) that this is his best attribute.

What is on your chin? It
looks like your Fu Manchu is
receding with your hairline.
I'm surprised your eyebrows
aren't over your ears.
Just like Loughner, the reason Breivik did this has nothing whatsoever to do with his political leanings.  No more so than the fact that he is white, Norwegian, or has a penis plays into it.  I can tell you why he did this… he is insane.  Insanity does not have a political party, a religion, or even a theme song.  Crazy people come in all sizes and colors.  The same holds true for intelligence, manners, faith, courtesy, integrity, practicality, respect, patience, commitment, and reliability.  People in both parties can display these qualities.  I don’t know what the Democrats do with their folks that do display them, but I’m convinced they must exist!

If you listen to some on the left you’ll hear that conservatives “cling to guns or religion” (Barack Obama).  You’ll also hear that we’re racist and terribly prone to violence.  Well, it seems to me that if these assertions were true there would be a lot more people with bullet holes in them.  Red states would be devoid of all non-white, non-Christian beings if Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow were correct… which they never, ever are.  Can you name one conservative who has ever shot a president?  No you can’t, and although two conservative vice presidents have shot other men only one did it on purpose.  Cheney was just old… give him a break.  Burr?  I can't defend that one.  He's all yours.  No, no presidential assassination has even been attempted by a gun clinging Republican… but at least three presidents were killed by left-wingers, and a couple other lefties tried.

American Sign Language
for "Bill Ayers."
When conservatives do something like Tucson or Norway they are scorned by other conservatives.  When liberals do things like this, a la Bill Ayers and the Weathermen (Weather Underground Organization), they are cheered by liberals, they are made professors at liberal schools of higher learning, and they have movies made about them by liberal Hollywood (The Company You Keep, coming in 2012).  They also host coming out parties for Democratic Presidential candidates.  They are proud of what they did to hurt innocent people (I mean the violence, not Obama's presidency), and they are praised by some on the left (and none on the right) for their “vision” and “bravery.”  A brave man will die to protect a stranger’s ideals, a coward will murder that same stranger to promote his own.  Which did Ayer’s do? Plug and play any adverbs that make you feel better about that question… allegedly do, unsuccessfully do, etc.  I have some adjectives and nouns you can use to describe Ayers too, but I’m trying to keep this family friendly.

Now everyone who knows me (dad) knows that I tend to get a little flippant with regards to my liberal brothers and sisters (and parents).  I’m sorry.  At least I can usually back up my insinuations with either facts or direct observations.  Yes, I stereotype the fairer party (and I don’t mean to imply Democrats are impartial or honest, I mean second rate).  I’m sorry, again.  I promise I will quit cold turkey as soon as the MSM does it first.

There are no words for the unspeakable evil that has transpired in Norway.  My heart breaks for the victims, their families, and their friends.  I pray they are showered with God’s love and comfort.  It just makes me ill that in true Tucson fashion the “left-wing extremist” media is again using tragedy as a chance to grab political capital for a party with a much more distinguished history of violence than the right.

Much of what I wrote above I recently learned from a very well researched and educational book, but this doesn't touch on amount of information in it.  Every American should have to read, at a minimum, chapters 10 & 12 of Ann Coulter’s new best seller, Demonic.  Get it here…

You'll be glad you did.

  1. Okay, have you read "Mein Kampf?" It's about as far from liberal politics as it gets. It's ridiculously conservative and is, in essence, fascism to the nth degree. It outlines, in almost the exact same way many conservative books today do about Islam, how Jews were gaining power with the attempt to take over the world. Moreover, Hitler talks about the two evils: Communism and Judaism. So, if you're going to claim that's a lefty book, you're pretty far off base.

It's a little hypocritical to slam Keith Olbermann but then use Ann Coulter as a citation. I don't know if you did that as a joke or not, but either way it's quite comical.

As far as the assassination attempts, that's a wildly inaccurate accusation that all twenty were carried out by liberals. I'll give you Oswald and Zangara, but Booth was more of a Libertarian. Schrank was a bible-hugging conservative, though he was most certainly insane. We could talk about each one, but the point is, these assassination attempts were carried out by crazies as well. It's (again) hypocritical to point out the fact that the MSM is pinning Breivik as a conservative and then turn around and pin all presidential assassins as liberals.

And if you want to talk about MSM, let's talk about how Fox News initially reported the Oslo incident as "clearly the work of another Muslim extremist." As did CNN, NYT, and many others. But, don't think that just because Fox News has a conservative slant doesn't mean it's exempt from the same stereotyping.

I agree what happened in Oslo is tragic. But I think the real problem is how religion and partisan politics only feed the fire for the crazies and that stereotypes and racism are still prevalent in today's society.

    Your cuz, Jeff
